'Towards A Low Carbon Global Economy' Conferences

International, sustainable business events for the environmental industry

UK Trade & Investment repeatedly contracted Oxygen to manage their flagship low carbon conferences. Over a period of four years, we provided sustainable event management services including:

  • Inward Mission of buyers matched to UK companies
  • Live satellite links with speakers from China, India, USA and Brazil
  • Hosting over 70 overseas buyers from 19 countries in international conference and 'Meet the Buyer' event attracting delegates across renewable energy, carbon abatement and environmental technologies sectors.
  • Achieved over 400 meetings in a day setting up partnerships, JVs, technology transfer, consultancy, project finance/investment and sourcing.
  • Raised corporate sponsorship
  • Keynote speakers included Foreign Secretary and Chairman of Shell

 

 

 

 

This was the first event where UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) took such a leading role in promoting the UK’s strengths in the area of providing policy and technological solutions to the challenges of climate change.  To deliver such an event successfully required a great deal of understanding by Oxygen of their client’s brief. They needed to show maximum professionalism at all times combined with flexibility of work practices to meet the demand and challenges that comes from dealing with such a diverse range of participants, which varied from: EISU/UKTI officials; other government departments officials; overseas delegates; UKTI officials based in the 14 emerging markets to the companies in the UK private sector.

Taking into account all the above dynamics and challenges Oxygen was able to rise to all of these to deliver a very successful event. The event was deemed successful by all its constituent participants from the ministers who participated through to the overseas delegates. A further testament of the event’s success is the fact that the Environmental Sector Advisory Group, which provides strategic direction to EISU, on international trade support for the industry, has tasked EISU/UKTI with organising a follow up event in June next year.
